Health and happiness while traveling -- Inner peace

Indulgent Wellness Retreats

With the weather being cold and most of us coming off of a year with no travel we all need to check our mental health issues related to no sunshine and no warm weather. Did your New Year’s resolution revolve around wellness? Do you love to travel? If so, now is the perfect time to plan an epic wellness-themed retreat, so you can focus on exploring a new destination and practicing self-care – all while indulging in pure relaxation.

Les Ilets de la Plage, St. Barths This quaint beachside resort is comprised of just 12 villas and serves as the perfect backdrop for those looking for some much-needed R&R. Activities here consist of taking a dip in the pool, enjoying a laid-back lunch prepared with fresh ingredients, and lounging on the beach. Added bonus: Guests can send a shopping list of anything they want/need throughout their stay, and the resort will ensure everything is ready upon arrival. Hotel Valley Ho, Arizona This boutique hotel has been around since 1956 (but has since been renovated), and is located in downtown Scottsdale, making it the perfect spot for an easy escape that’s not too isolated from the “real world.” What’s more, the property offers a special Stay.Zen Package, which makes practicing yoga in the hotel room easy and fuss-free. The hotel also offers their own fitness and wellness classes, a state-of-the-art spa, and two pools (one for those looking for relaxation, and one that provides a more social atmosphere). The American Club, Wisconsin This 241-room property boasts a fantastic spa, a variety of yoga and fitness classes, and four state-of-the-art golf courses. What’s more, all guests have access Sport Core Health and Racquet Club, and receive complimentary morning coffee, afternoon tea, and bathrobes. There's also the option to purchase a land pass for River Wildlife, a 500-acre private wilderness preserve perfect for dining, hiking, fishing, and horseback riding. Sansara Surf and Yoga Resort, Panama Sansara Resort hosts group retreats and customized individual experience packages that make for the ultimate wellness getaway. Some of our favorite amenities in the experience package include a luxury cabana and complimentary bikes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle-boards; however, guests also have the option to add-on daily meal packages, yoga classes, surf lessons, and more. Pura Vida Retreat and Spa, Costa Rica The sprawling property spans more than eight acres, and, at 4,900 feet above sea level, the panoramic views of Costa Rica's Central Valley are breathtaking. Check out the celebrated wellness center, which offers a variety of services from Ayurvedic healing to facials. There’s also twice-daily yoga classes with breathtaking views (additional price). And, for guests looking to get more in-tune with nature, the resort boasts adventure tours and activities such as whitewater rafting and hot springs tours. The Art of Living Retreat Center, North Carolina This secluded retreat center is tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounded by 380 acres of forest. The property specializes in Ayurvedic treatments, one of the world’s oldest forms of holistic medicines (it originated in India). In addition, some of the many retreats offered include happiness retreats, silent retreats, and yoga retreats – so there’s bound to be a retreat designed for anyone. Activities include yoga, pottery, nature walks, and nightly Kirtan (concerts focusing on ancient song and modern melodies). The Peaks Resort and Spa, Colorado The warm and welcoming resort, situated in the heart of the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado, offers guests a wide selection of amenities in a comfortable setting. From the state-of-the-art fitness center to the full-service salon and spa, there's almost anything one could ever want or need to achieve his or her wellness goals. What’s more, the resort offers a variety of specific wellness services, ranging from tarot card readings to acupuncture, and, there’s even the option to create customized wellness plans, too. Cheecha Lodge and Spa, Florida Located in the tropical Florida Keys, Cheecha Lodge & Spa is complete with luxe accommodations and both upscale and casual dining options – but its main draw is fishing. The property is located on Islamorada, known as “the sportfishing capital of the world,” which makes for the perfect opportunity to get away from it all while out on the open ocean. Take in the Caribbean-like amenities and features, including a 1,100-foot private beach, a Tiki bar, water sports, and private cabanas. Red Mountain Resort, Utah Thanks to its proximity to three national parks (Zion, Bryce, and Snow Canyon), Red Mountain Resort affords guests the opportunity to renew and recharge with outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. Post-hike, take a break from exploring to hit the spa, which features services and treatments inspired by ancient health and beauty rituals, complete with custom-blended products made with local, natural ingredients. In addition, the resort offers a variety of health and wellness packages. Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun, Mexico This all-inclusive, adults-only oasis makes for an uninterrupted and relaxing vacation. With pristine infinity pools, breathtakingly beautiful beaches, luxe guest rooms, and spa (with its own fish spa pedicure), it’s hard not to fall in love with the property upon arrival. Plus, the resort’s wellness program includes an in-room aromatherapy menu, a two-hour spa package, sleep aid kit, healthy cooking workshop, and a yoga and meditation kit, among plenty of other added amenities. The property is currently offering all guests a resort credit up to $1500 to use during their stay.

Maya Tulum Resort, Mexico Aside from the sprawling beaches, Maya Tulum Resort is also famous for its premiere wellness center, therapeutic treatments, spa services (including special Mayan spa services you can’t receive anywhere else in the world), twice-daily yoga classes, and an oceanfront meditation labyrinth (which is similar to a maze, but has only one path). In lieu of typical hotel rooms, the resort offers elegant yet secluded cabanas. If guests are looking to explore more of Tulum, the property also offers tours and excursions around the area. Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, California Located in beautiful Napa Valley, California, Calistoga Spa Hot Springs is a peaceful destination for anyone -- from couples to families to BFFs. Here, take advantage of the four mineral pools: a multi-lap pool, a whirlpool, a soaking pool, and a kid-friendly wading pool. Other amenities include a fitness center, mud baths with volcanic ash (a spa treatment unique to Calistoga), and a variety of fitness classes. At night, head to the fire pit to reflect and relax. Note: The spa facilities in the main building will be unavailable until mid-February due to renovations, so we recommend exploring downtown Calistoga, where visitors can schedule a hot air balloon ride, go wine tasting, and hike or mountain bike.
